Implementation
Your Roadmap to Implementing Your ISO Standard
Your system and procedures are analysed and mapped out, tailored to the Standard’s requirements, and any gaps to be addressed are highlighted. This smooths the transition towards ISO certification. It’s a crucial part of the consultant’s job to ensure the requirements are clearly communicated to the whole team, and subsequent actions required are evident, concise and attainable.
The support you’ll need will depend on a few factors:
The number of
Standards required
Your preferred method of working
i.e. full implementation or advisory role
Any experience your
team can contribute
The Milestones
Gap Analysis
First, your Brookfields consultant will undertake an in-depth analysis of your current business processes, and compare them to the requirements of the standards. Identifying where the ‘gaps’ (missing procedures, paperwork etc.) lie can often save time and money later on.
This analysis will pinpoint where adjustments are needed and allow us to produce a more accurate plan for your journey towards certification.
Documentation
Over time, the number of mandatory documents and records required have been reduced. However it is still vital to maintain and control the documents that support your ISO Management System.
Meggan and her team are adept at helping you to write the bespoke documentation required by the Standards and they’ll also advise on the structure, control and storage to make sure you keep your certification current.
Training and Awareness
It’s important to have the whole team on board during the implementation process. The success of the management system relies on full adoption by all employees and management, so they are working to a common goal.
Awareness training, so that everyone realises the reasons for, and benefits of, ISO certification is hugely helpful in getting everyone on side. Brookfields can provide internal training courses as well as Leadership Team seminars.
Internal Audit
Internal audits are a valuable way of measuring ongoing performance and providing an impartial test of your management system. The audits also provide a mechanism for continual improvement.
Brookfields can undertake these audits on your behalf, providing a full audit report with a detailed description of any non-conformities, and how to remedy them. They’ll make any appropriate observations and highlight opportunities for improvement.
Certification
Once you are ready to be assessed, Brookfields will recommend a UKAS Accredited Certification Body. We will then go through the process with you, to ensure you achieve certification smoothly.
And when your certification is awarded, you’ll need to undertake internal audits at regular intervals. This is crucial to you maintaining your certified status – failure to audit regularly or keep reports could result in your ISO status being revoked, and that’s the last thing you want after going through the process of getting it in the first place.
Maintaining your Certification - Ongoing Support
There are a number of ways Brookfields Consultancy can support the ongoing maintenance of your management system. After all, if your ISO Management System is used well, you are likely to find your business growing!
Whether it was Brookfields who helped you to put your ISO systems in place, another consultancy, or you did it yourself, Brookfields will be happy to assist with ongoing monitoring and maintenance of your management process.
This might become necessary if you:
- need to undertake one of the mandatory internal audits
- take on a new supplier and need to audit their processes
- employ new staff who need to understand and appreciate the importance of following the procedures
- grow the business to the point where you need to review the system to accommodate it
- hold a management review meeting
- want to identify any opportunities to improve
The amount and type of ongoing maintenance will be built around each client’s needs. Meggan will be happy to discuss what you need and put together a Maintenance Programme with you.
